Diamond Ancion
Diamond Ancion was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended The School for Creative and Performimg Arts while simultaneously studying dance at the Otto M. Budig Academy from the 4th through 12th grade. Her junior and senior years in high school were spent dancing as a trainee for the Cincinnati Ballet under the Artistic Direction of Victoria Morgan. Since attending Juilliard, Diamond has had the privledge of performing in Jose Limon's Missa Brevis, Twyla Tharp's Bakers Dozen and Merce Cunningham’s Biped all of which were performed at Juilliard’s annual Spring Concert. Diamond has also received the opportunity to work closely with and perform new works by Kyle Abraham, Kate Weare, Brian Brooks, and Camille A. Brown. While attending the Juilliard School, Diamond, along with her classmates, were invited to perform with the Brian Brooks Moving Company for Fall for Dance at City Center as well as with the Kate Weare Company at BAM for their 10th anniversary season. Ms. Ancion has spent two summers in Atlanta, Georgia at the Atlanta Ballet Summer Intensive training in their professional division. There she has studied closely with American Ballet Theater’s former principle dancer, Amanda McKerrow among others. Diamond’s favorite works to dance were Twyla Tharp’s Bakers Dozen at The Juilliard School and Helen Pickett’s Prayer of Touch at Atlanta Ballet's summer intensive. Diamond looks forward to her fourth and final year at The Juilliard School and is excited to see all the places dance will take her.
